Here's a thread to post links and/or information about your favourite meetings, either online or in person. It would be great if you shared a little about each one, what you like about it, if it is a “special interest” meeting...

The “general rule”, as I've always heard it in the rooms, is, “Don't get into a relationship in your first year”, and, “Don't 13th step (hit on/pick up/fuck/get in a relationship with) the newcomers (AKA people in their first year)”. I...Read more

I know a lot of people that aren't big “joiners” and they don't drink.  I think some people are just naturally more introverted/extoverted and depending on which you are plays into that.  I'm not a big joiner because I've been down that...Read more

My feelings are if you are using it just for that purpose it's creepy and predatory.  If you happen to meet someone and a relationship develops slowly over time, who am I to judge?  Personally, I never thought about dating anyone in AA...Read more

I've heard a lot of stories about alcoholics saying they didn't feel like they fit in. Also, and possibly related, they weren't big "joiners" of clubs, organizations, etc.Is this universal or what is going on here? Is the addiction itself making us...

Unity has provided us with a fellowship made up of people who share our own common problem; who give us the love and support necessary to maintain our sobriety. AA’s 12 Traditions present the principles which support the unity of the AA fellowship...
